INSPIRATION

You called me a poet;
Alas, that’s not true!
I merely hold the pen
And try to catch the words
As they flow.
Poems come at times they choose
Not when I think I’ll sit and muse.
And writing prose is much the same
A gentle pursuit, yet hardly tame
For Inspiration never strikes
Just because the writer likes
The subject or the writing.
