BUTCHART, born in St. Louis in the early 1900's, was not only a painter, but a poet and writer of beautiful prose as well. He was also the inventor of a lithography process used for photographic reproduction that was used for many years. He began painting as a young man, and continued to create art until shortly before his death in 1982. Although his works were never shown in major galleries, the quality and beauty of these pieces warrants that they be shared so others can enjoy his creations.
